Looking into starting your own Ambit Business? Check out the Ambit Scam first.
Customer care provides specific information regarding your personal Ambit billing, but many of my potential clients are curious as to how the Ambit Energy Billing really works prior to them making the wise decision to sign up.
So here are the basics:
There are 3 parts of elements to your Illinois Natural Gas bill.
- The first portion is from your Natural Gas Supplier; ie. the company that brings the natural gas from where it is harvested. (that’s what Ambit does!… and we are backed by the Shell Company)
- The second portion is paid to the company that delivers the natural gas to your home. (the company that owns the pipes that run under the city streets and right up to the meter at the back of your house)
- And the third element is the governmental taxes and fees imposed on all of us. (You can call Springfield if you don’t like this part, or maybe Washington DC)
WIth Ambit, we handle the supply portion of the billing, which means that NICOR is no longer in control of your entire natural gas service. Up until recently, you had no choice but to pay NICOR for the supply AND delivery of your Natural Gas in Illinois.
Another positive part of choosing Ambit for your Natural Gas Supply is that we handle your customer service questions, so there is no more dealing with the hassles of NICOR.

Looking to start an Ambit Business? Learn about the Ambit Scam Here.
It’s no secret that Illinois Natural Gas Customers have a choice in providers now that energy has been deregulated. But did you know that Ambit Natural Gas also gives customers rewards points redeemable for trips and vacations?
That’s right, Ambit believes that customers are not just people who pay bills. They are clients, and clients should be rewarded. So Ambit Energy has set up a rewards program that allows clients to receive overnight stays at first class resorts, and even cruises on Carnival Cruise Lines.
For example, every customer who signs up for Ambit Natural Gas supply is automatically given a 3-day, 2 night stay at their choice of 25 luxury hotels across the country, including one in Vegas. This is not some time share pitch either; it’s a legitimate, no strings attached hotel stay for two. It’s Ambit’s way of thanking our clients for choosing us.
In addition, clients earn points for every therm or gas power they use throughout the year, and those points are redeemable for trips and getaways. Customers can view their point balance on their personalized client website, or at the bottom of their monthly invoice.
Finally, and best of all, clients can earn a free trip on Carnival Cruise Lines by referring their friends or neighbors onto the Ambit Natural Gas service as well. All they have to do is direct their friends to the client website, or call customer care to find out more details! It’s that easy.
